Sorry but this book does not deliver what it says on the cover. There are a few interesting responses to the question, but most of the answers are too lofty and lacking in detail, plus quite repetitive. So it's basically natural selection with a few others tagged on. I thought it would be a valuable introduction to different cutting edge areas of science, but it proved not to more
