An investigative criminologist, Christopher Berry-Dee is a man who talks to serial killers. Their pursuit of horror and violence is described in their own words, transcribed from audio and videotape interviews conducted deep inside some of the toughest prisons in the world. Berry-Dee describes the circumstances of his meetings with some of the world's most evil men and reproduces, verbatim, their very words as they describe their crimes and discuss their remorse - or lack of it. This work offers a penetrating insight into the workings of the criminal mind.

Book Review: Talking with Serial Killers by Christopher Berry-Dee
This is a moderate-sized paperback of 349 pages. It deals with the life-histories and murdering sprees of a number of serial killers. There are b/w photos of all of the murderers.
The killers who earn a profile in this book include the following:
Harvey Louis Carignan
Arthur John Shawcross
John Martin Scripps
Michael Bruce Ross
Ronald Joseph Butch DeFeo
Aileen Carol Wuornos
Kenneth Allen McDuff
Donald Clark and Carol Bundy
Henry Lee Lucas
Harvey â??the Hammerâ?? Carignan is a repulsive neanderthal who killed a number of innocent women with a hammer. He received over 40 years in prison and may be released soon. He should have been hung years ago. He states in this book that he hates women with a passion.
Shawcross was probably a worse fiend than Carignan. He actually ate parts of his victims which is horrifyingly disgusting to say the least. He murdered at least 12 women and girls. He claimed most of his victims after being paroled early following a conviction in the manslaughter of two children, which led to harsh and widespread criticism of the US justice system. He finally died at age 63 in prison in 2008 after this book was published. He was earlier sentenced to 250 years in prison.
Kenneth Allen McDuff was as evil as the first two criminals above mentioned put together. He was a criminal from an early age and no amount of jail was going to reform him. While incarcerated, McDuff was twice sent to the electric chair, but both times received last minute stays of execution. On February 18, 1993, the jury in his latest trial, in a special punishment hearing, opted to sentence him to death. He filed a Notice of Appeal on October 23, but on October 26 his request for a certificate of appealability was denied by the Western District Court, and he was duly executed on November 17, 1998 at the age of 52.
This book gives a gripping account of the lives and criminal activities of some of the worst serial killers of recent times, especially from the United States. This book, although outdated, is recommended for criminologists and researchers into the workings of criminal minds.

This book was a great, albeit confronting, read. It delved into fascinating details of the backgrounds, motives and psyche of the serial murderers. I just wanted to keep on reading!
