Product description

This book contains instructions for forty eyecatching and adorable projects for cake decorating, using sugarpaste and a few simple tools and techniques. We learn about the simple shapes that are the basis for the projects, and the few basic tools that are needed. Then it is straight on to making elephants, lilies, fairies, pelicans and many more. The constituent parts of the animals are shown with the step by step instructions, and annotated for clarity, then each finished animal is pictured in all its splendour. Whether the recipient is an animal, bird or flower lover, they will be thrilled to see any of these appealing creatures on top of a celebratory cake - and who can resist a tiny sugar fairy on an angel cake? Review quote

This lovely book contains a range of cute sugar decorations. If you're decorating a cake or cupcakes for an animal fan, young or old, this is a really useful guide. Each section starts with a list of the tools and materials you'll need and covers basic modelling shapes. There is a good selection of projects for colourful sugar birds and animals and pretty sugar fairies which little girls will love. Projects are suitable for a range of abilities, from beginners to more experienced sugarcrafters.-Cakes & Sugarcraft This book contains the best designs from three existing books in the wonderful 20 to Make series: Birds, Animals and Fairies. If you don't already have these I would highly recommend this book, as it is essentially three in one for a great price. There is a wonderful range of animals and birds; each design is distinct and beautifully realised, and the pefect balance of realistic and cute. There's actually more designs than first appears, as many have both male and female versions (eg the turkeys, woodpeckers, mallards etc) or adult and baby versions (baby koala is so cute!). The designs are wonderfully laid out in full colour and you are shown each individual part that makes them up, so they're really easy to assemble. The hummingbird is especially stunning, with delicate wafer-paper wings. The fairies are a bit more complex and not particularly my style, but that's just me - I'm sure many little girls would disagree! It's great that there's a range of complexities in the book, although even the fairies are broken down into manageable steps. All in all, a great book for a great price, and a lot of fun.-becca.likes.books.tumblr.com This lovely book contains a range of cute sugar decorations, including a selection of projects for colourful animals and pretty fairies which could be used to finish off a wedding cake. There are also many designs for sugar birds, which remain a big wedding cake trend and can be used to make sweet wedding cake top decorations.
