"New York Times "bestselling author Susan Mallery returns with a new Fool's Gold trilogy featuring three rugged cowboys who will find love in the unlikeliest of places.... Locked in an unexpected land dispute, Rafe Stryker is trapped in the one place he vowed never to return to-the Castle Ranch in Fool's Gold, California. He made millions facing ruthless adversaries in the boardroom, but nothing could've prepared him to go head-to-head against stubborn, beautiful Heidi Simpson. No one is more surprised than Rafe to discover that he's finding Heidi-and life as a cowboy-much more compelling than he wants to admit. For Heidi, the Castle Ranch is the home she's always wanted. After a life on the road, the vivacious blonde has finally put down roots. She won't give that up without a fight, not even for a man whose late-night kisses make her yearn to be a little less...wholesome. As the two turn from passionate adversaries to passionate, period, they'll discover that summer love can last a lifetime.

I love Susan Mallery & Fool's Gold!! Rafe & Heidi has a great chemistry together even though they are both stubborn. I feel so bad for Heidi, who finally has a home of her own. Rafe swore he would never go back to Fool's Gold, but he did it for his mother. I love May. She was something else! If you are looking for a good romance book, then this is it! You won't be disappointed!

Dear Susan Mallery,
I'm not surprised that I fell in love with your newest Fool's Gold book, Summer Days. As a loyal reader and huge fan, I loved getting to know Heidi, Rafe, May, and Glen better and found myself a slave to finishing Summer Days within one day. I love how you tied in how Rafe and Heidi are so much alike, but got that way from two very different perspectives on love. I laughed along with the characters who live in Fool's Gold, but especially loved drunk Heidi and her ramblings. Your Fool's Gold shows town loyalty that never waivers and ends up even surprising your most cynical of readers (sure I may fall into that category if you are really wondering). Rafe is a hunk of man who I am sure I will dream about because like all of your characters, he is not perfect which makes him so much more real and relatable to life in general. I love May's perspective on ranching and how it is not just for horses or cows or even chickens anymore, it expands through the animal kingdom. Glen being a handsome devil with quick wit finally got a dose of what real love is like and I can already tell in your upcoming books he will be whipped. Heidi is a very strong character who seems to bring sunshine wherever she goes and even if she's in a sullen mood. In short, I adored this edition to the Fool's Gold Series and cannot wait to read about another cowboy in the near future. Heidi and Rafe make me laugh and I love how their relationship wasn't all smooth sailing. I'd say keep up the good work, but we both know you are already brilliant and will continue to write stories that drawn readers into towns, families, and love.

than look no further than "Summer Days" by Susan Mallery. She's back and continuing her very successful "Fool's Gold" series with three books this summer starting with "Summer Days." I absolutely loved this book and devoured the book in one session. Ms. Mallery has a way of making you sure you want to hate the "bad guy", in this case Rafe Stryker, but still infuses him with enough hidden sensitivity that hating him becomes impossible. The woman he's antagonizing,, Heidi Simpson, is so loving and caring that you want to dislike Rafe for being a hunky millionaire out to protect his mother's interests in a farm due to her that Heidi owns but is in danger of losing because her grandfather borrowed $250,000 from Rafe's mother May to pay for an old friends cancer treatment. The problem lies in that Glen, Heidi's grandfather and only parent she's ever known, can't pay back the money and the only option seems to be that Heidi has to relinquish her home, Castle Ranch, to May Stryker. But the Judge presiding over the case has a different idea and gives them an ultimatum to try to work this out on their own.
Before you know it, Rafe and May have moved into Castle Ranch and all kinds of mayhem ensues. With it's sweet moments between Rafe and Heidi and Oh My Goodness are Glen and May sleeping together type of sub plots, this book will grip you from the first word to the last and surprise you through the middle. In "Fools Gold", anything is possible from run away goats to newly bought elephants. I won't ruin the ending for you. Come on down to "Fool's Gold" yourself and see why we who love the series keep begging Susan Mallery for more. Following "Summer Days", you'll want to pre-order "Summer Nights". That's the first thing I wanted to do when I finished this wonderful book which left my heart happy. I hope it leaves your heart happy too!

Susan Mallery brings readers back to Fool's Gold, California for another round of fun romances. The town that once had a man shortage is starting to even out nicely. I love this fictional town and its residents. Susan puts so much effort towards making this town as real as can be. Readers can visit www.FoolsGoldCA.com to see just how real. As a Fool's Gold cheerleader I got the benefit of receiving an ARC of "Summer Days" for review. I liked the story but it wasn't my favorite of the series. Heidi is a very original heroine. She's a cute, spunky, young woman who raises goats and sells cheese and soap. How cute is that?? As a country girl I love characters that raise animals. I do wish she would have kept a feral cow around though LOL. Rafe's character felt flat to me. He's a high and mighty businessman who always gets his way. I would have liked to see more of his cowboy side and as a cowboy the name Rafe has been used more than enough. His backstory made him more likable but I felt he was just too pompous. His mother was fun if not a bit flaky. I admired her love of animals. I didn't feel the chemistry between Rafe and Heidi that I would have liked to. They had a nice relationship but something was missing. I found myself more intrigued with Rafe's siblings than his and Heidi's storyline. I give "Summer Days" 3/5 stars, it was a good read but I can't wait to meet the other Stryker siblings.
