Reviews for A Street Cat Named Bob
Not as good as thought would be - disappointing
I must be missing something because I bought this book based on the good reviews yet there isn't much of a story. Hugely disappointing as I love a feel-good novel, and I love cats - but couldn't help thinking the hype was better that the book! by Debbie Winters

A Street Cat Named Bob
This is a truly inspirational true story of an unlikely friendship. James Bowen's life had not turned out the way any boy would have dreamed and he had really become a nobody. When Bob came along James found compassion in himself to help him and his life though still tough started to turn around.
Bob and James found an identity and strength in each other to not only keep going but to also move forward with James getting himself totally off drugs and feeling clean again. It is so sad that homeless people become nobody and loose eye contact with those around them and sad that the people around them don't want to see them. James is a person with a loving heart, it just took a friendship with a cat for him to become somebody again. Cats are very picky in who they trust, animals can sense who we really are and Bob chose well, for a cat to escort James through London that trust is enormous.
Reading about a life of a homeless person makes one think when they see a person living on the streets how it came that they are there and who they really are.
Congratulations James for being brave enough to share your story you are a champion and your book is very heart warming and inspirational

Lovely, absolutely lovely!
This will be one of my most favourite books on cats. Bob is such an endearing creature. As cats tend to pick their "owners", he decides to stay with James. Their adventures together on London's streets, their attachment to each other and the love that shines out of this book, simply irresisteble! I read the book in two "sessions" and, having had to put it down once, could not wait to get back and finish it. Anybody who loves and understands cats, will adore this book. I also admire James for kicking his addiction, very brave! The very best of luck for both of them and their future together. Perhaps James would, in time, write another book? by Annemarie Karpf
