DescriptionThe third volume, part one of A Song of Ice and Fire, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. GAME OF THRONES is now a major TV series from HBO, featuring a stellar cast. Winter approaches Westeros like an angry beast. The Seven Kingdoms are divided by revolt and blood feud. In the northern wastes, a horde of hungry, savage people steeped in the dark magic of the wilderness is poised to invade the Kingdom of the North where Robb Stark wears his new-forged crown. And Robb's defences are ranged against the South, the land of the cunning and cruel Lannisters, who have his younger sisters in their power. Throughout Westeros, the war for the Iron Throne rages more fiercely than ever, but if the Wall is breached, no king will live to claim it.

Reviews for A Storm of Swords (Part 1) Steel and Snow: Steel and Snow Pt. 1
Great book, awful publisher
While I have nothing but praise for George R. R. Martin, I do have a problem with this version. I have bought the previous two books from the other publisher and have encountered a misprint (maybe) three times in the two books combined. This book, however, is full of missed punctuation marks, words without spaces and lines jumping down in the middle of the sentence.
It's really annoying. I will buy the next ones from Bantam books and will eventually exchange this book as well.
(rated 5 since the book is still great) by Maria Botvinik

Best so far by far
Even if you are like me and have been a bit uncertain about this series until now - don't hesitate buying this book. Martin really hits his straps with this book and the action and plot flows beautifully from scene to scene, chapter to chapter (although you'll need to be prepared for a big change of pace in volume 4 when he refuses to include many of the central characters).
