DescriptionHBO's hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R R Martin's internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series has set the benchmark for contemporary epic fantasy. Labelled by Time magazine as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world, Martin has conjured a world as complex and vibrant as that of J.R.R. Tolkien, populated by a huge cast of fascinating, complex characters, and boasting a history that stretches back twelve thousand years. Three great storylines weave through the books, charting the civil war for control of the Seven Kingdoms; the defence of the towering Wall of ice in the uttermost north against the unearthly threat of the Others; and across the Narrow Sea the rise to power of Daenerys Targaryen and the last live dragons in the world. Seasons one and two of the HBO adaption of A Game of Thrones aired world-wide to critical acclaim. The box set includes: A GAME OF THRONES A CLASH OF KINGS A STORM OF SWORDS, 1: STEEL AND SNOW A STORM OF SWORDS, 2: BLOOD AND GOLD A FEAST FOR CROWS A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, 1: DREAMS AND DUST A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, 2: AFTER THE FEAST

Reviews for A Song of Ice and Fire
First of all this book is just epic! pure awesomeness and realistic! and found a review from amazon that would best describe and explain this set. :)
"The books themselves are a lot better quality then the previous paperbacks. Before I bought this set I already owned all of the books but they were very used, small fat things with tiny print and the hardback of the fifth title was very, very heavy and after a while a nuisance to hold, if you have kindle those issues are not a problem but a lot of people have been annoyed with the kindle edition so I wouldn't recommend that unless the kindle edition is significantly cheaper. These paperbacks are taller, slimmer and the print is easier on the eye then older editions.
Also the fact that the newest book in the saga, A Dance with Dragons, is split into two parts; Dreams and Dust and After the Feast is an advantage!! for the majority of Ice and Fire fans that didn't like A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons as much as the first three.
The latest two books in the series were not as well liked because Martin put half the characters in the fourth book and the other half in the fifth book and they both carried on directly after the third book in the series.
The advantage about the fifth book being split is that you can read book 4 and 5 part 1 together so you won't go to long without half the characters and come Part 2 After the Feast all the characters are back together in the same book again." by thefaithcamille
Great service and to satisfaction
I ordered this item on 30th April and it arrived 10th May, exactly 7 working days later, which is the shortest time quoted by the item history, much better than I expected.
Very well-packaged but bulky, probably on the intent of proper protection. The books were well-intact but torn edges on the box, although not an issue for me. I will definitely get the outstanding books from the same retailer when it's out. by Matthewunder review
Says its complete boxset, but the series is far from complete. If you want the full series than you're going to need to wait for probably another 6-7 years.
What this box does offer is the first 5 books (2 of which have been split into 2 volumes each) of the series. Its not worth purchasing the box right now because of this. By all means purchase the books, but you can find them much cheaper elsewhere. by Sarah Milnes

A must for every fantasy-lover. Fans of epic fantasy tales like Lord of the Rings will love this series. The books are even better than the show, if that were possible, and the complexity and unflinching portrayal of a medieval world is undeniably aimed at adults. Graphic, violent and magical. by Kayla Mackie
