'It's snowing in Bali.' Among Bali's drug dealers it's code that the paradise island is full of cocaine. For the men who run the country's drug empires, it's time to get rich and party hard. Snowing in Bali is the story of the drug trafficking and dealing scene that's made Bali one of the world's most important destinations in the global distribution of narcotics. Kathryn Bonella, bestselling author of Hotel K, has been given extraordinary access into the lives of some of the biggest players in Bali's drug world. She charts their rise to incredible wealth and power, and their drugfuelled lifestyles: filled with orgies, outrageous extravagance and surfing. From the highs of multi-million dollar deals to the desperate lows of death row in an Indonesian high security jail, Snowing in Bali is a unique, uncensored insight into a hidden world.

Awesome book

Wow. This is now by far my favourite book. I felt like I was living inside the stories in the book from my lounge room. It's raw and shocking but also funny and very, very interesting. Read this book if you love a great story and enjoy a book you cannot put down. This is it.show more

unputdownable

This book is brilliant. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves being swept away by a book and have the feeling they are really living in the moment on the pages. Reading this is almost like getting lost in a movie. It's beautifully written and packed full of information. The author did an incredible job of getting drug traffickers to open up. It also includes some information about Lindsay Sandiford the older british woman on death row in Bali. I this is a genre that interests you, you will love this book.show more

Bali....as only the expats know it.

You might have read Bali travel books, various prison or crime related books. Nothing comes close to this! Wow.... What can I say? This book grabbed me and wouldn't let me go. I lived in Bali and knew a couple of the people mentioned in the book. This book captured the feel, the vibe, the living on the edge that this lifestyle brings in a paradise called Bali. Bali, for the expat, has a very raw, unbound vibe to it. A place to lie upon the beach where ego, sex, bravado, corruption, people, life, death, drugs, love, anger and money are all amplified and mixed in ways that one can't fathom when residing in a 'normal' structured society like Australia I too was nearly sucked into the vortex, but maintained an anchor in self-preservation and eventually left Bali for a life of normality back in Melbourne. This book took me back and mind f'ed me....it blew me away. I've since contacted a number of people still in Bali and have told them about the book....I feel it will become a cult hit in Bali. It's the best book I've read.show more
