Description

Long ago, Ephemera was split into a dizzying number of magical lands-connected only by bridges that may take you where you truly belong, rather than where you had intended to go. In one such land, where night reigns and demons dwell, the half-incubus Sebastian revels in dark delights. But in dreams she calls to him: a woman who wants only to be safe and loved-a woman he hungers for while knowing he may destroy her.And an even more devastating destiny awaits him, for an ancient evil is stirring-and Sebastian's realm may be the first to fall.

A flair for smoldering sensuality that recommends her to fans of Tanith Lee, Storm Constantine, and Anne Rice. ("Library Journal", starred review)

Book 1 of the Ephemera doulogy. This is a story about a young man trying to find his place in a fantastic world where the landscapes shifts according to the will of individuals called landscapers. The idea alone of a world of shifting geography is sooo fantastical that, to me, it would be difficult to pull it off as a story like that and sell the book as well. But by god, Anne Bishop had done it! Not only that, done it so well that readers are following through the series. Unfortunately there are only two books in this series. I was kinda hoping that Miss Bishop would write more books in the Ephemera series. Her official website is at www.annebishop.com where you can email/contact her and get juicy tidbits on her works. Anne Bishop is a master story spinner. She paints a world so vivid that I can almost taste the texture and color of that world. The story pulls you in that you forget and lose yourself in her world, away from reality for a time. And that my dear friends, is what entertainment is all about. Overall rating: 5 out of 5show more
