About Giles Andreae

David Wojtowycz is a bestselling, award-winning author and artist. He studied at Goldsmiths College in London, graduating with a degree in Fine Art. In 1996 David illustrated his first book for children, Rumble in the Jungle, which went on to become an international bestseller. David has gone on to create many more hugely successful children's books, including The Lion Who Wanted to Love, winner of the Red House Book Award, and the bestselling Mad About Minibeasts. David lives in Berlin. Giles Andreae is the author of many top selling award-winning picture books. For Orchard, these include Rumble in the Jungle, Commotion in the Ocean, and I Love My Mummy. However, it is for the international bestseller Giraffes Can't Dance that he is best known. Giles is also the creator of Purple Ronnie, Britain's favourite stickman, and of the artist/philosopher, Edward Monkton. These two ranges of greetings cards, books and merchandise have made Giles the country's top selling living poet and an icon of contemporary popular culture. Giles lives with his wife, Victoria, a children's clothes designer, and their four young children by the river in Oxfordshire.

I love this book. I read it to my 25 month old and my 5 month old daughters and they love the rhyme and rhythm of the words. It is also a lovely introduction to African animals for young children and the illustrations are bold and happy. An essential edition for any young child's more

My boys love these books. They love the rhymes and learning about the animals. We read them multiple times a day, day after day. We have Commotion in the Ocean, Rumble in the Jungle and Dinosaurs galore - all are a huge hit!show more

I bought his book because I loved "Giraffes cant dance" (same author). But this book has been bit disappointing. Its not a story, its a collection of rhymes, one on each page. Its been on our shelf for 8 months now and Id be lucky to have read it 5x to my daughter. The illustrations are lovely and the rhymes work well, but if you are looking for a 'story', there is none. Good for kids who love rhyme, maybe my daughter isn't quite ready for it? Id be inclined to get it from the library first before buying more
