A tender and sexy love story
Lady Arianne Chambers, sister to the Duke of Bedford, has helped numerous upper-class couples make happy marriages, but she's never had any luck finding the right man for herself. Since she's a well bred and properly brought up young lady, she keeps her personal unhappiness to herself.
Now she's been asked to give lessons on diplomatic behavior and deportment to raffish Michael Rafferty, a rugged man of action who's on the trail of a murderer who's killed the previous ambassador to the United States. Then those lessons turn into a perilous masquerade, as Rafferty pursues a path that could lead to danger and death.
Can Arianne trust her secrets--and her heart--to Rafferty the rogue?
There is a nefarious plot afoot, and twists and turns abound as Rafferty and his friend Phineas search for the criminal. But the best parts of the story are the love scenes between Arianne and Rafferty. Tender, heartfelt and sexy, Arianne's introduction to the delights of love with her honorable and passionate rogue are a treat to read. by Saralee Etter -
I couldn't put it down! So exciting!
This was my first experience of Donna MacMeans, and I just loved it! I didn't realize this was one of a series until I was done, as her world was fabulous and full of necessary information to be a stand alone, I wasn't lost at all. I am now going to pick up her backlist, though! I was totally impressed.
Lady Arianne Chambers works for her country and volunteers to train the rogue hero, Michael Rafferty in etiquette. Rafferty is traveling to America under the guise of a minister, his mission to solve the murder mystery of Lord Weston, a dear friend of Lady Arianne's. But, he needs a woman to teach him the necessary manners to do so.
This was fun from the first meeting. The two had chemistry and worked hard to ignore it because they just couldn't possibly be together. Rafferty's a rogue, not good enough for the sister of a Duke. It was exciting to watch these two characters grow together. The secondary characters were exceptional - Phineas and Mrs. Summers are best friends to the two, and add great subplots to the story.
Overall, an exciting and very entertaining read! by Riley Darkes
