Product description

Take the mystery out of radar and learn how to use radar on a small boat for navigation and collision avoidance. This short guide shows you how to use the controls to get the best picture, then explains how to understand the display and gives plenty of examples of radar plots. This little companion is laminated to stand up to frequent use and serves as a great aide-memoire that will fit into your jacket pocket.

Review quote

"a handy memory jogger if kept by the navigation station." (Yachting Monthly, August 2007)

Back cover copy

If the target is Visible Only on Radar: You may reduce your speed or stop.Turn, as shown in this chart: In quadrant 2: It would seem that you will be turning towards a vessel on your starboard bow. This is no different from turning towards a vessel to go astern of it.The other vessel should turn to starboard also, so it is safe.In all cases consider what the target is allowed to do. But be aware that it may do nothing.ONCE YOU SIGHT THE TARGET VISUALLY: Normal 'colregs' apply.
