Pantone Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Rite, Inc.) is the world-renowned authority on colour. For more than 45 years Pantone has been inspiring design professionals with products, services, and technology for the colourful exploration and expression of creativity. In 1963, Lawrence Herbert, Pantone's founder, created the Pantone Matching System, a book of standardized colour in fan format-an innovative system for identifying, matching and communicating colours to solve the problems associated with producing accurate colour matches in the graphic arts community. Pantone has since expanded its colour matching systems to include other colour-critical industries including digital, fashion, home, plastics, architecture, interiors, and paint. Today, the Pantone name is known worldwide as the standard language for accurate colour communication.

I thought the concept of Pantone postcards sounded pretty cool, and would make a great gift for designer friends and such. And concept-wise, these cards do not disappoint at all.
The cards measure 14.4 x 9.8 cm and are printed on thick, sturdy cardstock. Both sides of the card are matte. The side you write on has a white/grey colour block design going on, but the grey area where the address lines are, is MUCH bigger (two-thirds of the entire postcard side) than the white area (one-third of the entire postcard side) where your message goes. I didn't get this.
But my biggest concern was that quite a few of the cards had printing issues. I could see tiny horizontal lines running across the coloured portion on the front of some of the cards that looked like the printer was running out of ink; and on one of the cards, there was a very obvious pink horizontal streak (a machine error?) about 1 mm in thickness going from left to right, near the top of the coloured portion of the card.
This was extremely disappointing, and the first time I've encountered such lousy printing on any of the postcards I've ever purchased!
