Paddock Paradise (PP) is both a book title and a concept of a more naturalized way of horse keeping based upon the research done on the Great Basin wild horses by natural horse care expert and author, Jaime Jackson. PP is a must-read for any horse-owner or professional who wants to create an environment of more optimal mental and physical health for their horses while drastically reducing the number of hours spent on 'barn' chores. Jackson explains to readers why the concept works and how to create one in a simple and inexpensive manner. Not only do horses exercise more but also eat in the manner that nature intended . Research has shown that free-roaming horses are healthier than stabled ones but many kinds of pasture grasses can cause laminitis. PP is the solution for these issues and others that plauge horse owners around the world. "PP is an emerging trend," according to a summer 2011 issue of "The Horse" magazine.

Will never keep horses the same way again. We found this book while searching for a way to save our 16 year old navicular quarter horse and today after applying everything we learned from Paddock Paradise and other books by Jaime Jackson he is symptom free and acting like a youngster again. Navicular Syndrome and Laminitis do not need to be a death sentence for your horse. If you love your horses you should apply these concepts.

This book was EXCELLENT! Jaime Jackson has done his homework. He communicates the Paddock Paradise concept in easy-to-understand terms for the novice, but also grounds his research in science and field observation of the Great Basin herds, from whom the track concept is derived. The book includes great pictures and diagrams and lots of practical advice. I am totally sold on this concept of natural horsekeeping and plan to fully implement the PP model when we set up our new property for horses. (Check out the Paddock Paradise Facebook page, too - tons of great info and discussions!) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I love this book and others by Jaime Jackson and my approach to horsekeeping and all management practices have changed immensely since I the first time I read one of this books. My own horses have been on two different Paddock Paradises - and they truly seem more at ease, more secure, healthier, and the amount of movement and body condition they do on their own is amazing and transformational. You might have to see it for yourself to believe it. And with all the new information in the past 15 years or so about the laminitis risks of horses grazing freely on most grass pastures, it just makes so much more sense. I created one at a farm I owned and now have one on some property I lease. You can do a lot fairly easily and inexpensively and bring everything with you when you move! Wonderful for all!

This book has completely altered the way I see all things related to horses, in a highly beneficial way for both the horse and myself. Paddock Paradise holds the horses well being above all else and allows space for humans to fit in, in a harmonious way. Highly informative, backed with obvious experience.
