DescriptionBestselling Chicken Soup author Mark Victor Hansen and financial guru Robert Allen offer a practical inspiring lesson in creating true wealth whether you aspire to become a millionaire or simply beat credit-card debt and have enough money to live on without worrying. Two books for the price of one! On the right side of the page is Hansen's fable of Michelle, a widowed mother whose life is on the brink of ruin; unless she can raise a million dollars quickly she will lose custody of her children. On the left hand side are Robert Allen's rules for achieving financial success. His advice parallels the action in Michelle's story, as he urges readers to identify their fears and doubts, and eliminate from their lives all the roadblocks that limit their potential. They'll learn how to transform Restraining Forces into Driving Forces- whether their goal, like Michelle's, is to become a millionaire or just simply to save money for the future. Together these two halves of The One Minute Millionaire work as a powerful tool of self-discovery, an inspirational lesson in unlocking the winner in everyone.

    Review text
This is an evangelically inspirational package aimed at getting readers to millionaire status, or at the very least solid financial security. It includes both a fictional parable and a non-fiction guide for you to choose from, depending on how you prefer to be 'transformed'. The story focuses on the widowed Michelle, a woman on the brink of losing everything who must raise a million dollars in 90 days or lose custody of her children, while the guide sets out to describe how to climb the 'millionaire mountain' from dream to reality. Despite the title the book is not saying it only takes a minute to go from broke to millionaire, but that in a minute you can make the crucial decision to do so. Once that commitment exists then minute by minute you can push yourself forward and upwards to your goal. En route some of the advice smacks of commonsense, but at other times the authors make worthwhile and thought-provoking points. A book that aims to change your life always has a lot to live up to. If you loved Chicken Soup for the Soul then this will be your kind of book. If narrative packaged in schmaltz irritates you, then you may think twice, but it is always worth reminding yourself how important it is to share your time, talents and wealth, all of which is emphasized here. This book may not change your life, but it's bound to make you reassess your financial situation and attitudes, which can only be for the good. (Kirkus UK)
