I have read the first book, and really don't want to read the second or third.
The story could have been great, but the authors writing style is not very engaging. While it is descriptive in some parts, it just isn't very elaborative. Characters aren't introduced very well and become somewhat of a jumbled mess. Some of the terms to describe certain segments of the society used are very boring (i.e. Big's and Little's) - it made me feel like I was reading a children's book.
There just wasn't much to the books and most of the story is left to guess work - we're told about what a character does, but not why. We're told about how a character behaves, but not why. It is almost like reading a screenplay (and by that I mean you're essentially reading bullet points about what happens next).
The idea of the story is good, but this author needs some serious practice in the art of reader engagement. £13 wasted in my opinion.

I love this trilogy...it is exciting from the first page of the first book to the last. It keeps you up late at night...it is too intriguing to be put down.
Brent writes well, and the plot develops wonderfully. And there is always a twist to the story when you least expects it to...All in all, a great storyline with well-developed characters...
It is definitely worth the money and the time! 2 thumbs up!
