Review quote

"A beautifully photographed book that is equal parts eye-candy and reference tool, worthy of being read and flipped through again and again--and at over 400 pages, there can be no doubt that you will find something new and inspiring each time." - Quilting Arts Magazine"In this second edition of Masters: Art Quilts, Sielman has assembled works from some of the finest, most sophisticated and provocative quilt artists from around the globe to create a book that every art quilt aficionado will want to keep for inspiration and reference. Whether you are a quilter or someone who admires fiber art, you will definitely want this timeless treasure for your shelves!" - Pokey Bolton"Great it s an encyclopedia of major quilt artists. This is a book to savor over several evenings and then dip into over and over again. This is a wonderful and extensive collection of some of the best of our time. An important addition to an art book collection." - Elizabeth Barton"As a participant in the history of the art quilt movement, reading this book was like visiting old friends, seeing past work and appreciating the recent work and innovation of the artists. Sielman's introductionsforthe artistsare brilliant and offer concise glimpsesabout the creativity of the artists. These master artistsincorporate time-honored hand stitching, along with complex surface design and use of alternative fabrics, offering visual delights onevery page. Snippets of their creative thoughts connect the maker with the viewer.Masters: Art Quilts, Vol. 2 is a must have on your book shelf to visit over and over again. Bravo to Lark Books for continuing this series of books on the Art Quilt." - Yvonne Porcella"I enjoyed the first volume in the series, but I think I like this one even more.Lark Books wisely had Studio Art Quilt Associate's executive director Martha Sielman return to curate the second volume after her monumental work in 2008 with volume 1. The well done photos and interesting narrative about the artists would make this worthwhile, but the inspiration the book provides alone is worth the modest purchase price. ... It's especially wonderful because it has quilts from people you haven't necessarily heard of, as many of the artists are from overseas." - Lisa Quintana's Michigoose blog "This is truly a beautiful book." - Kathleen Loomis' Art with a Needle blog"show more
