    Penny Cunningham I have just finished this book for the second time. I read it a few years ago and when the film came out with rave reviews I couldn't remember much about it. It is about a young girl Susie Slamon who is raped and murdered by a seriel killer in a cornfiel not far from her home. Nothing but her elbow was found and very few clues. She was dismembered, put into a metal safe and dumped in a sinkhole in the neighbourhood, so a body was never found.
    The story is told by Susie herself whilst in her heaven as she watches her family falling apart, but ultimately coming back together again. It is poignant as she watches her family and friends in the aftermath. However In my opinion I think it will make a better film. by Penny Cunningham
