Author Information

Rudyard Kipling was born in Bombay (now Mumbai), India, in 1865. He was the first English writer to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, in 1907, and wrote some of the best-loved books for children, including The Jungle Book. Robert Ingpen was born in 1936 in Geelong, Australia. In 1986, he was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his contribution to children's literature and has been honoured with Membership of the Order of Australia.
