The beginning of a great new series!4

Jessica M A Lopes Nunes I loved this book! The story of a teen who used to be a mean 500 year old vampire isn?t something you read every day and it definitely stands out from all the other vampire books I?ve been reading lately. When I first read about this book I thought, 'She?s a powerful vampire. Why would she want to be a human again and how will things work out for her as a human teenager?' Well, somehow, she pulled it off. I loved that Maizel gave us readers some pages about Lenah's life as a vampire, which kind of worked for me as a prequel, and let me tell you, Lenah was one vicious vampire! Then we learn of her reason for wanting to become human again. In Maizel?s world, vampires don?t feel anything when they touch things and Lenah wanted to touch and feel again; she wanted to feel love as humans did, do.
Enter Rhode. I am so Team Rhode and he?s only present in the beginning of the book, which should prove to all reading this that he had a huge impact on me and will most likely proceed to have the same effect on future readers! You've been warned.
Why is Rhode only in the beginning of the book, you ask? Well, you see, he was the one who performed the ritual that gave Lenah her humanity back, sacrificing himself to do it (or at least he thought he would die. I shouldn?t be saying this, but in the end of the book there?s a little excerpt from the sequel and we get a little clue that he may be alive after all. Yay!). How can you not love a guy like that? Rhode, who was willing to forfeit his life for love of Lenah.
Here?s my favorite quote by the one and only Rhode:
?Throughout all my histories, I found no one I loved more than you?no one.?

    *SWOON*
Now a teenager, Lenah finds herself in a boarding school, but she had been ?hibernating? for the last 100 years, so she?s clueless about all the new technologies of this century. When she discovered the CD player, her reaction was fall on your ass hilarious!
Later, Lenah meets Justin. I like him, but I don?t understand why she loves him. Their relationship moved way too fast and it bothered me that he had a girlfriend in the beginning and dumped her so easily to be with Lenah; I just don't see any depth in their relationship. (Go Team Rhode!) The ending of the story: Wow! I guess that?s when I really realized, ?**** this series is going to be great!?
This book wasn?t perfect but there?s so much potential. I seriously NEED the sequel! Overall, I think Infinite Days is one of the best books I read so far this year. Though there?s nothing great about it, I found myself glued to it's pages anyway and was unable to put it down. I most definitely fell in love with this story...and Rhode. by Jessica M A Lopes Nunes
