Reviews for Half the Sky
A call to action
I recommend this book.
I have set up a charity to help children in Cambodia go to school (cambodiatrust.org.nz) and urge people to read this book. It is sometimes shocking for people who may not realise the struggle faced by many women and children in many countries. I have even given this book as a gift to people who have supported our work in Cambodia.
I believe the key message is that anyone of us can choose to make a difference. It is easy to help in a meaningful way. You just have to act. It has become my passion. by Doug Lyonunder review- Top review
HALF THE SKY
This is a long way from being a feminist book; it is purely educational for men and women of all races, ethnicity and origin. This should be on the national schools reading program for senior secondary students. This paints a picture no documentary or news story ever could. I encourage everyone to read this, because educating women will clearly resolve ( or be a step towards ) many problems in various countries. If it doesn't open your eyes on various issues it'll make you feel grateful for the life you have. by Deanne
