Impractical and inefficient way to learn the subject

At first glance this looks like a great way to learn the technicalities of HTLM5 and CSS3, but don't let the glossy over-sized graphics fool you. The text is painfully repetitive and dumbed-down, often stating the downright obvious, as in the case of the section on image layouts (portrait vs landscape). I have previous experience of HTML from about ten years ago and bought this book as a way to get up to speed with the latest standards. I struggled with it, page after page, but found its style too simplistic and impractical to look back at for a quick reminder. If you want to learn this subject, I recommend looking elsewhere. The "Missing Manual" series would be a good place to start. I'm tempted to give it just one star, but that would be cruel after all the snazzy artwork design that has gone into it.show more

Best Book Yet

The book is definitely unique in great ways. I have bough ALOT of technical books before and this is the first book that have magazine quality pages. And dont get me wrong here, it too have a very straight forward teaching, yet very concise on what it's talking about. And yes, alot of ultra high resolution pictures that really aid your learning.show more
