DescriptionIn the age of the farmers market and the farm produce delivery box, Grow Harvest Cook takes the reader one step further with 200 seasonal recipes to cook from the ground up. Celebrating the pleasure of creating and eating from your own edible garden (whatever the size), it's both a guide to living well and the antidote to our fast food, high consumption supermarket culture. Watch your peas grow through winter and in spring, reap the rewards with a Warm Prawn, Pea and Avocado Salad. Plant your beetroot in Autumn and warm those winter nights with a Beetroot and Goats Cheese Tart and celebrate summer with berries, basil, stone fruits and many more mouth-watering ingredients and recipes. Whatever the season, you'll be harvesting a bounty of goodness grown with your own two hands. This gorgeous 400-page book takes the reader through over 80 types of produce - from Almonds to zucchini - providing simple information about growing conditions and harvesting tips, then following into recipes and ideas for using up your produce, including preserving, drying and freezing. Based on the blog of the same name, the authors, designer and photographer of Grow Harvest Cook have reinvented the meaning of homemade and created a work that truly celebrates good food.

    Review quote
"The book is well laid out and easy to use, with a good list of contents at the front and a very useful index at the rear. I found lots of suggestions for combining some ingredients which were fresh and new to me and I think that is this book's best feature - it gets you thinking about different ways to use familiar ingredients. This is a solid, hardback book - which looks like it will withstand being handled in the kitchen without falling to bits, a huge bonus if you have ever had old favourite paperback books disintegrate due to handling! This book also has some lovely illustrations and beautiful photographs. "Grow Harvest Cook" has been added to the bookshelves." "the-compostbin.com"
