  What an interesting story!! I'm surprised it took me until I was 29 to actually read it, I wish I had years ago. A very in-depth look at a young boy's life as he grows up in poverty under hard conditions, but goes on to see a very interesting twist in his fate. Unusual characters and page-turning reading. I'm sure that the new Hollywood movie version isn't half as good as the original book is at forming the characters and story in one's imagination! A worthwhile purchase. by Bonny Sisson
