Product description

These are not your granny's granny squares! They're young, hip and sometimes not even square! These more than 70 contemporary versions come in all shapes, sizes, colours and textures, along with fabulous finishing ideas. They're attractive enough to use as an embellishment on a piece of clothing, as well as in traditional stitched-together projects. Many of the designs appear in different yarn weights and colours, allowing crocheters to personalise any of the items and get exactly the look they're after. The wide selection features everything from ponchos and scarves to jumpers and skirts.

I love this book because it has a relaxed appoach that suits the modern attitudes of enjoying while learning, and not being reprimanded for getting it exactly, but *exactly*, square and even.
The outline are sometimes purposefully almost 'in the round' and give life to flowers and butterflies to embellish a sweater or a cardigan. I just love it.
I have had so many squares wasted while learning to knit that I felt guilty for wasting earth's resources and I gave up.
But I love all types of handmade stuff and will start again with this book without any guilt - all my beginner samples will now have a life of their own away from the waste bin.
Every one can take a look in the preview above and form their own opinion. We all have different needs and ideas.
Thank you for inspiring me!

This is honestly the worst book about crochet I have ever come across. All the designs look totally out of shape and lopsided, the photography is really bad, only written instructions are included and the choice of yarns is to say the least, very very tacky. With maybe the exception of the afghan on the cover, there is not a single design I am tempted to try out, some of them are so bad, that I can not even understand what shape they are suppossed to be. Seriously, give this book a miss and save your money for something else instead. I am now trying to send this book back to the Bookdepositary.
