'What are you thinking, Amy? The question I've asked most often during our marriage, if not out loud, if not to the person who could answer. I suppose these questions stormcloud over every marriage: What are you thinking? How are you feeling? Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do?' Just how well can you ever know the person you love? This is the question that Nick Dunne must ask himself on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police immediately suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they aren't his. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone. So what really did happen to Nick's beautiful wife? And what was in that half-wrapped box left so casually on their marital bed? In this novel, marriage truly is the art of war ...

This book is absolutely phenomenal and addictive. After seeing the film a couple of weeks ago, I simply had to read the book and it does not disappoint.
Of course there are bits that are quite uncomfortable to read, especially during Amy's point of view in the latter half of the second act - but it makes for an even more gripping read.

I have recommended this book to countless friends because of it's genius.
Gillian Flynn had me grasped in her palm so tightly that I had to bring the book to school with me to finish it (which I rarely do).
I read the book during my classes and finally finished it by lunch and immediately after bought her two other books.
Gillian Flynn you blew me away.

I'm really loving the story but I've only read 130 pages and the pages are separating from the book. The layout of the book is awful, no margins and tiny typography. I'm a little bit annoyed, I would have bought a more expensive version if I would have known. First time this has happened to me with a BookDepository book after years of buying books from here.

The book is split into parts. The first part(s) are really boring and uninteresting.
When things start to happen you do wonder if he really killed her, but then again, it drags out so much you start to loose interest.
I really don't know why everybody likes this book so much, they must have never read an exciting thriller which grips you until the last page.

LOVED this book right up to the end. it feels to me like the book ending was written by a completely different author, did not match the riveting book and is now the only book I have literally thrown in the bin!
