DescriptionA collection of quotations from notable Australians who have suffered major public defeats or setbacks, yet in some manner carried the day. From Ned Kelly's words at his sentencing, to John Howard's famous 'Lazarus act' in the mid-90s, this book is an entertaining reminder that when things look at their bleakest, not all is necessarily lost.

He also writes for The Age newspaper in Melbourne. Nick Richardson has been a journalist since 1982. In the course of his career he has covered politics, economics and sport for The Bulletin, The Australian and the Herald-Sun.
