    Yasuko Fukuoka was born in Tokyo. She studied music composition and toured around Japan extensively as a musician. This experience, and a deep interest in food inherited from her mother, resulted in her following a unique combined career as a Japanese regional food and drink specialist and composer. Since moving to England, Yasuko has gone on to establish herself as an award-winning food writer and journalist.
