Reviews for Foretold
Great Anthology Filled with Predictions
Before beginning to read Foretold, I was familiar with and had read books by nine of the fourteen authors. After reading this book, the rest of the authors are on my to-be-read list. While each story had the prediction/prophecy idea in common, each and everyone were so completely different. Every author had a different take on the idea and this helps to keep each of the stories different and continually entertaining.
There were a few love stories, sometimes they were sweet, sometimes they were devastatingly dark - and oddly enough, even with the major differences in the story they still held onto the thread that binds them together and it always worked. Some were predictable in how the story would play out, but I enjoyed them just the same. It was the beauty of the writing in some of those that had me enamored. As I love my paranormal reads, I did tend to gravitate towards the stories with something even more fantastical than the prediction/prophecy bit, but even those that were more based in reality had a compelling story behind them.
This is a really great anthology for those seeking out YA authors they haven't tried before or to get more from those that are already loved, tried, and true. I predict buying this book for friends who have yet to try young adult books yet as this will have them clamoring for more.
