    Margaret Cole I highly recommend this book. I first read it about 30 years ago without realising when it was written (1949), I lent to a friend who did not return it. I have now found the re-print adn reading it as a 1949 book, and after reading other apocolypse books, it has so much more perspective. So many things happen because of the era - apartheid, very few antibiotics, no hang-ups over expiry dates - medicine and food. A good commentary on how we as human beings always take the easiest path also! On of my top books ever. by Margaret Cole
