Reviews for Cry Wolf
Something i don't get
I haven't read the book yet but i have a question. From this page. Is this the book or just some draft and something else? by Viktoria Nikolaeva Iankova
W.O.W!
I started reading this novella because of the author: I've already read the Mercy Thompson sequel... and loved it!
In this sequel, we meet Anna, an Omega, and Charles, Bran's son (you know him if you've read a little of Mercy Thompson). They have to found a rogue wolf who can compromise the good image of werewolves (just before the public announcement).
I really enjoyed this new kind of werewolf, and the pair Anna/Charles is so cute! Do not hesitate to buy this book, but before reading it, you have to read the first short story of 'On the Prowl' (written by Patricia Briggs), which explain how and why Charles met Anna.
5/5 - I LOVED it! by Julie Renaudingood follow up to the Alpha Omega novella
This book follows the short novella titled Alpha And Omega from the anthology On The Prowl. I strongly suggest that you read that short story before reading this book because it will give you a greater appreciation of characters and events. The story-telling quality, as per usual with Patricia Briggs, is 5 out of 5. It's the kind of book where you could lose yourself in the story. I find the plot lines is a bit far fetching though. Theme is not as dark as the short story in On The Prowl. I do not like tortures and rapes. That short story is a bit too dark for me. That is why I borrowed this book from the library instead of buying it because based on the preceeding story, I might not want to waste my money on this book. But it would have been worth the money had I bought it.
Overall rating = 4 out of 5 by CherryCan't Put It Down
This was one of the best books I read last year. Actually, it was more like a re-read but anyway, it was one of the best I read last year.
If you enjoy supernatural stories, like TWILIGHT, this must be another one you read. Except it deals with werewolves as opposed to vampires.
The first thing that got my attention was the cover, then the blurb intrigued me and then the text itself just blew me away!
It deals with characters that Briggs introduced in the omnibus ON THE PROWL but, the beauty is, at least for me, is this book can stand alone, without having read ON THE PROWL as background.
Briggs conveys emotion beautifully and the book just flows. Its a good combination of drama, romance, action and intrigue with a little bit of humour thrown in from time to time for good measure. Anna (the female protagonist) is a good counterfoil to Charles (the male protagonist) and Charles' dad, Bran, has a hint of mystery, which really draws you in and makes you want to see if Briggs gives anymore hints to what he is like and you also want to find out how the relationship between Anna and Charles will pan out.
A fantastic read; will definitely have to re-read AGAIN before I make my way onto HUNTING GROUND, the sequel to CRY WOLF. by Caroline Chadwick
