    a Book Depository customer "This course is about you. It speaks to you in a language that at first may be hard to understand. This is because you have taught yourself that you are what you are not - for you are not what you think you are.
    But you have learned to think and perceive in ways that validate and confirm your attempt to be a separate power. A private will. The Course calls this ego.
    Much of what you do with your mind may be unconscious to you. But it is active none the less. It always keeps you from your peace and your joy because it is convinced that separation IS your salvation - albeit temporarily. In accepting ego as your guide you are hurting yourself. As the Course says "This need not be".
    If you are tired of ego. if you are in the realisation that what you have always done to cope with life does not really work and that there must be a better way, then you may have ears to hear and be glad.
    A Course in Miracles is about you because it is about love, peace and joy. Perhaps I should capitalise these because they are all attributes of the singularity of God.
    The God of A Course in Miracles is not separate from you, nor could you in fact become separate from God. But the belief in such a separation at the core of your being, is the belief in guilt, fear and punishment and death. Such beliefs are the core ego rallying points - for it would 'protect' you from such horror - and by so doing is the belief reinforced. Albeit the forms appear to have mitigated the loss - but at greater cost than you can imagine, for now you will protect your 'self' against your Self. Ego is indeed insane. You are not.
    The Course states that ego perception is misperception. It is founded on error. The separation is a failure of communication and not an actuality. But it is not a failure that then convicted you. It is an ongoing failure to communicate that you perpetuate, moment by moment. Once you become aware that you are choosing poorly, you are empowered to make a better decision!
    A Course in Miracles invites the undoing of error by opening presently to relationship such that instead of hiding in fear, you reach out in joining. Above all else the Course is a practical, grounding guidance to that in you which is waking up. It is not at all aimed at helping you delay and procrastinate and make a better ego or world. Perfection may be progressively revealed but it is not achieved.
    Earlier copies are not copyrighted and can be downloaded or viewed online. Google 'ACIM'. However, the differences are not crucial to making the acquaintance of the author.
    By their fruits shall ye know them. Walk with this without demanding it confirm you or conform to your demands of what anything should be.
    If you could do this fully - you would already be in accord with its living principles.
