DescriptionThere are not many people who have been collecting, cooking and devising recipes for mushrooms for over 60 years, but Antonio Carluccio is one. His expertise is unrivalled and this book, with over 100 recipes that make the most of readily available mushrooms in dishes ranging from classic to contemporary via oriental and Eastern European, will not disappoint. In addition, for those who want to join in the thrill of hunting for their own mushrooms - the quiet hunt - the Complete Mushroom Book offers a detailed and authoritative well-illustrated field guide that helps distinguish between edible wild mushrooms and their poisonous lookalikes. This unique book, with specially commissioned photography by Alastair Hendy, will inspire and inform and bring the pleasure of mushrooms to a wider audience.

    Author Information
Son of the local railway stationmaster, Antonio Carluccio's love affair with food began when he was a child in his mother's kitchen. Having moved to London in 1975, he ran the Neal Street Restaurant and spent 10 years developing the hugely successful Carluccio's Caffes. In 1998 Antonio was given the Commendatore award for his knowledge, enthusiasm and lifetime's service to the Italian food industry, and in 2007 he received an O.B.E. He is recognised as one of Italy's greatest food ambassadors, has written fourteen bestselling books and made numerous television programmes - the latest being the second instalment of the enormously successful Two Greedy Italians series.
