Description

Colours of the Kalahari captures Africa at its Magical best. It is the product of Wildlife photographic genius, Hannes Lochner and is a Coffee Table publication of no comparison. There is no place as mystical as the great red expanse of the Kalahari desert. Nowhere else on earth is the blue of the sky in such contrast to its surroundings. It is on her majestic dunes, and on her flowing grasslands that the fauna and flora endure the extremes dealt to them by nature. Hannes Lochner has captured not only the wild and spontaneous essence of his subjects, the images speak to you. They are the gifts of an artist with a still hand, a keen eye and a deep knowledge of his subjects. The book is also a Photographic Safari capturing all of what The Kalahari has to offer. It clearly shows what makes the Kalahari so special, what makes South African's proud and what keeps our International Visitors coming back year after year.

About Hannes Lochner

Hannes Lochner was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. Before he had finished primary school, his parents had taken him to almost every game reserve in South Africa, and a passion, which was to become his life's labour, was born. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch where he became engulfed in the art of graphic design. Once his studies were successfully completed he decided to return to his roots as naturist and become a full time river guide in Namibia. His hunger still not satisfied, he left after a couple of years to travel the globe and kayak her rivers extensively, meeting her nations and travelling her continents. Cape Town called and he returned once more as freelance photographer, graphic designer and freelance river guide.
