Reviews for Clockwork Princess
Another must-read book from Cassandra Clare! (This book review contains a lot of spoilers, but well it is a book review)
In the final installment of The Infernal Devices, Cassie gave every single character their own happy ending. It was likely and obvious of Gabriel to fall in love with Cecily and Gideon with Sophie. It is a shame that Henry didn't get to walk anymore but I am really happy to know that he is the inventor of the Portal!
However, through out the series, I think we have all expected the engagement between Jem and Tessa, (one way or another) to break up and Tessa will end up with Will. It is really heart breaking when Will finally felt the parabatai bond between himself and Jem break. Cassie really got me at the fighting scene, when one of the Slient Brother's hood fall revealing his pale growing hair, and it was Jem. Jem. I honestly, wholeheartedly believed that Jem have died when Will felt the bond break. It is very heart breaking to see that Jem have chosen a lonely path that neither Will nor Tessa can follow. The love triangle between Tessa, Will and Jem is not a jealous, typical and cliche love triangle, it is indeed a very intense threesome relationship. In the end, Will and Tessa got together and I love the ending when Will introduced Gabriel to Mr and Mrs. Herondale as Mr Lightworm and the book sort of end with them breaking into laughter.
It would have been a shame if the book just ended like that because I would be dying to know if they got married, what happens if Will die and will Tessa live till The mortal instruments and all my answers were nicely answered in the Epilogue, where Tessa stood at the Blackfriars Bridge waiting for Jem to meet her as she reminisce her life with Will until he died. It is nice to know all the little things that happen to Gideon, Sophie, Gabriel, Cecily, Charlotte and Henry. About how Tessa met Magnus in New York and about the "Dark Time" that is about to come which is Valentine and his evil plan to wipe of Downworld. It is very very unexpected that Jem returned not as a Slient Brother but as Jem and he say that he have another story of the Lightwoods, Herondale, and Fairchild to tell which shows that he will be in City of Lost Soul and City of Heavenly fire.
If you are a big fan of The Mortal Instrument series(like i am), then you honestly have to pick up The Infernal Devices, it is NOT going to be a light read so be prepared because it is going to be an emotional roller coastal but you will really be missing out in all the little throw backs of the Herondale's history, especially in City of Heavenly fire with the Carstairs family. There will be a lot of throwback to the past and Tessa, and even Jessamine!
Do pick up The Infernal devices because it is a very interesting and lovely series. by Regina Faruk
