Short Description for Captivate Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town. Better than the first3

Sam Originally reviewed on my blog: http://sikbookreviews.blogspot.ca

Story: I liked this story much more than the first book of the series (Need). I found that this plot line is better developed and more captivating. I wanted to keep reading and to know what was going to happen. And the end of the novel made me itch to read the third of the series. Unlike the first book (where I pretty much predicted everything that was going to happen), this book was different. It surprised me! Yay! That is an accomplishment in my eyes. One BIG surprise in particular really took me off guard. Ahhh! If you read this book, you will know what I'm talking about!

Characters: All the main characters are the same, likeable characters. Zara develops quite nicely in this book. And there is a new character, Astley, who I think I like. Astley is the new king pixie in town, but he claims to be different - he claims to be good. I like the way he is presented (just hope we can trust him!).

Writing: The writing quality is better in this book. It is still a bit weak, but it was able to captivate my interest. There are a few errors (or typos), but nothing really worth mentioning. I only mention the errors because there were soooo many in the first book. Big improvement here!

Uniqueness/Creativity: This book was also much better in the uniqueness and creativity department. Jones came up with unique and creative elements that I've never heard of before. So, yay! Good for her! And I didn't feel like I was reading Twilight this time!!

Overall: Overall, this book was good. It kept my interest so that I wanted to keep reading. I am itching to read the third book of the series! Can't wait to see what happens! Would I recommend this book? I would recommend it to anyone who really liked Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. If you are bothered by weak quality of writing, then I would suggest staying away. It's a good story, but the quality is a bit weak. Side note: I totally like how the king pixies need a queen in order to be strong(er) - I think it's awesome that women are needed by the men in this way! Hehe :) by Sam
