It is no coincidence that modern democracy was born in England and the United States of America, Biblistic nations. The main elements of democratic culture were created not only in ancient Greece, but also in the ancient Hebrew state in God's Promised Land. This book tells for the first time the story of how that unique culture was born of the geography and economy of the Holy Land. This book explains in a new and original way, why reading the Bible is so important to preserving American values and American democracy.

About Hagai Doron

Hagai Doron, the author, helped the archaeologist, Prof. Vendyl Jones from Texas, maybe the prototype for the "Indiana Jones" movies, to decipher the mystery of the Copper Scroll, that was discovered in the Caves of Kumran. His Doctoral thesis (University of Haifa, 2005) is entitled: "The Role of the Holy Bible in the Development of National Identity in the United States of America, 1790 - 1830." Dr. Doron continues to research the relationship between Bible and democracy, while teaching and lecturing on Bible, history and civics.
