Product description

The Beautiful Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series. Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn't have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with her first weekend off in almost a year. Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt. Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlour to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red. As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she'll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever - even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart. In the first instalment of The Maddox Brothers series, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

After reading and loving Beautiful Disaster, I could not wait to read this book! Unfortunately it didn??????¢??t live up to my expectations and my feelings are so conflicted. I??????¢??m going to rate this book a 2.5 stars and round it up to 3 on goodreads.

Let??????¢??s start with the things I did like, the first being Trenton! He was such a sweetheart even though he had some anger issues, I just loved him! He shared some similarities to Travis but he was much sweeter and happier! Along with Trenton, I liked some of the side characters like Kody, Hazel, Hank, and most of the time I liked Reagan! I also loved the guest appearances from Travis and Shepley!

And that was all I really liked. My main issue with this book was the plot, there was a ??????¢??secret??????¢?? Cami kept and it wasn??????¢??t revealed to the end of the book, in all honesty I was completely shocked by it so credit to Jamie McGuire for not making it obvious! But I wasn??????¢??t happy with the ??????¢??secret??????¢??, and I won??????¢??t spoil anything but I think it will alter the rest of the series is a bad way because I can??????¢??t see everyone being ok with it! Then there??????¢??s Cami, who I didn??????¢??t really like as a character. I didn??????¢??t like the way she was stuck between TJ and Trenton, it was practically cheating. Then she was hiding thing from Trenton and I wasn??????¢??t a fan of her family, they were all weak and immature and their situation was not resolved by the end so that plot point felt unfinished! Also the sub-plot involving Reagan and her romance issues was irrelevant and not at all interesting!

So overall, I loved Trenton and some of side characters but Cami and the plot let this book down for me! Though I will keep reading the other books because the Maddox brothers are addictive!
