Product description

Being popular in the college music scene doesn t solve all your problems; at least that s what the hot musicians of indie band Luminescent Juliet discover. In this compelling novel, trouble begins when eighteen-year-old Riley, trying to regain her rhythm after throwing away her percussion scholarship to a top school, wins an audition to become the band s new drummer. This sets her on a collision course with Romeo, the band s sexy dark-haired guitarist, whose ambitions do not include performing with a girl. Luckily for Riley, all her problems seem to evaporate when she s behind the drums. Yet she can t ignore reality as the band s artistic power struggles increase and the dynamic between her and Romeo edges from dislike into overwhelming attraction. If the two can t find a way to be together without breaking up the band and wreaking havoc on the lives of those around them, they ll lose not just their chance to make music, but their chance for a future together."

Favourite Quote: â??Love doesnâ??t always make sense. To the person in it or to the people around them. The falling can be an emotional, chaotic whirlwind. The landing jarring and eye opening. But if two people are really in love, thereâ??s nothing in this world that can overcome it. Even if they canâ??t be together, love doesnâ??t cease.â??

I read this book on a whim and Iâ??m so glad I did! I really enjoyed it and give it a 4/5 stars!

The contemporary books I have been reading lately have all been character driven, and I canâ??t connect with them but this book is the perfect combination of plot and characters! There were a lot of issues that are addressed in this book, divorce parents, love, depression, college, future, family etc and they were all great plot points and the author explored them very well! The music aspect was one of the favourite things about this novel, it was just refreshing and chilling! For me this was a quick read, I read it all in one sitting!

As for the characters, I liked all of them except Marcus, he was a dick! I really loved Riley, she is such a strong, loyal person and he dedication to her family was just overwhelming and inspirising! And then thereâ??s Romeo who I just adored! He was just the perfect leading male for this book, a bad boy with a big heart! All the other characters really moved the plot along and I enjoyed reading about them!

Overall I highly recommend this book to anyone look for a good, quick, contemporary read with a good romance!
