Driven by seasonal ingredients, these recipes are company-worthy and easy to boot" (New York Daily News, December 17, 2007) "...cheery...these are straightforward recipes to follow, and the result is a tasty blend of nostalgia and innovation." (Publishers Weekly, June 19, 2007)

Back cover copy

"After writing two dessert books, I'm really happy to finally put together a collection that includes not only desserts but a lot of my favorite savory food recipes that I've been copying down for friends and dinner guests for years. Many of the recipes in this book are things I learned to cook as a child and I'm still making today. But I'm also always experimenting with new ideas and different combinations of ingredients. The recipes I've gathered here reflect the all-American sensibilities of my bakery and my home. My style is the same whether I'm making something sweet or savory--simple steps, fresh ingredients, and classic combinations." --Allysa Torey

Nearly every day, people line up around the block at Allysa Torey's Magnolia Bakery in New York City. The reason is simple--Magnolia is the place to get all-American sweet treats like their famous pastel frosted cupcakes, layer cakes, and icebox desserts. But away from the bakery, at her country home in upstate New York, Allysa cooks a lot more than desserts. There are cupcakes, of course, as well as lots of other sweet indulgences, including Strawberry Icebox Pie, Cream Cheese Swirl Brownies with Heath Bars and Pecans, Buttermilk Cake with Nectarines and Vanilla Ice Cream, Pineapple Cheesecake with White Chocolate Sauce and Macadamias, and Blueberry Coffeecake with Cinnamon Crumbs.Filled with mouthwatering recipes and inspir-ing photographs, At Home with Magnolia is a cookbook that you'll feel instantly at home with as you whip up old-fashioned, fresh-flavored dishes that family and friends will love.
