DescriptionMany people love the idea of living a more creative life, but don't know where to begin. Art Doodle Love by art journaling expert Dawn Devries Sokol is the perfect way to try out their creativity by sketching, collaging and writing their thoughts. Loosely inspired by the book Eat Pray Love, Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir of self-discovery through a year of travel, Art Doodle Love overflows with colourful, vibrant pages for thinking, collecting, venting, soul searching and documenting everyday life. A front section describes how to use the book and suggests the best pens and markers for drawing and doodling, the best techniques for art doodling tasks and also offers multiple exercises to get the doodle mojo flowing. Following this are prompts with various painted and collaged backgrounds to spark inspiration. Throughout the process, the journal keeper develops her artistic skills, gains confidence in her natural creativity and learns about herself through self-reflection.

  • Art, Doodle, Love, review.5

Jean Fletcher I love this journal though not all subjects in it relate to me, it is set out in such a way that you can change what you want to, or stick a doodle picture that you have drawn, over those pages not relevant to you. My granddaughters love to check mine out when they come to visit to see what else I have added, so with that in mind I am purchasing four more to give to them! by Jean Fletcher

Eugenia Poh I think this is actually quite a useful book to get you started on doodling, there are instructions on every page that instructs you on what to do and gets you started. I tried getting another book called "Wreck your Journal" and honestly, I find this much better than that, my other book just stays on my shelf collecting dust.

Also, there's a list of recommendations from the author on what kind of pens / markers to get for decorating your book. I think if you are looking for something to jump start on your art progress / doodling, this is the book you will need to start with.

I think this book is really worth its money. Really loves it. by Eugenia Poh
