What if your whole world was a lie? The thrillingly dark conclusion to the No. 1 New York Times bestselling DIVERGENT trilogy. What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered - fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she's known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories. But Tris's new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature - and of herself - while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love. Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Favourite Quote: “The skin on his face and on her knuckles is nearly the same color, purple-blue-green, as if drawn with ink. This is what happens when siblings collide – they injure each other the same way.”
Wow. I just finished this book and the tears are still streaming down my face! So much happened in this book and I even though I understand why Veronica Roth choose the ending she did, I don’t agree with it and because of that I doubt I can ever re-read this series because my heart is broken! Overall I give this book a 3/5 stars.
It wasn’t just the ending that annoyed me in this book, it was the characters. Four and Tris just keep arguing and their relationship was just a crumbling mess, which was a shame because I loved them together! As foe the characters individually, I think Tris was the strongest she’s ever been in this book and I was proud of her for that but I think Four was at his weakest and I didn’t particular like his chapters! As for the other characters, another death just tore me apart (I swear Veronica Roth is trying to kill me) and there were characters whom I admired with the decisions they made.
As for the plot, it was very complex with tons of information thrown at us. Sometimes I struggled to keep up but overall I thought it was well thought out and even though I didn’t like something that happened in the end, I did like how everything was tied up.
Overall, this book was okay, something’s I liked, some I didn’t and as for that ending, I’ll just be in denial and create my own haha! As for the series as a whole, this was an emotional roller-coaster that I didn’t think I could survive again but the first book will always be my favourite dystopian book ever.
