BOOK 1 OF THE WHITE RABBIT CHRONICLES She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real. To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead. To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland. But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn't careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

Great book! Just the right amount of action, romance, humor, fantasy and gore makes ALICE IN ZOMBIELAND a fantastic read.
First of all, I like the characters. Aliâ??s loss is tragic, but her determination to live is remarkable. I like her sass and angst. She knows she wants to fight the monsters that killed her family and I admire her for that. Sheâ??s brave and strong and knows how to kick some ass. My favorite kind of girl. Cole is quite bossy and irritating at times, but I think heâ??s cool enough. My favorite character though is Kat. Funny, funny girl. Sheâ??s hilarious and amazing and sweet. And behind her carefree personality, she has her own kind of strength. Who wouldnâ??t want a friend like her?
Second, I enjoyed the action. The butt-kicking was awesome. I could easily see the fight scenes in my head as if I was watching them in person. The imagery used by Showalter was that vivid.
The story was also different from your ordinary zombie story. The mythology around them was unique and interesting. Though a very few parts were a bit predictable, the storyâ??s still intriguing and you wouldnâ??t want to miss any of it.
Also, one of the things I like about Showalterâ??s books is the way they are written. The words and dialogue are always good, often with a touch of sarcasm and humor. And because ALICE IN ZOMBIELAND is told from Aliâ??s perspective, the reader gets an unlimited dose of Aliâ??s wit and snark.
It is really an enjoyable read. This first book does not give all of its secrets right away, but is loaded enough to keep you going. I am very excited to know whatâ??s next for Ali and her friends. I hope the sequel packs some punch, too! Way to go, Gena Showalter!
"[An] action- packed paranormal story with a giddy focus on the push-and-pull attraction between Ali and Cole and the nastier side of the high school social scene. The result is a zippy story with crossover appeal that highlights the power of guilt, faith, and self-confidence." -- Publishers Weekly
